Ohio Central's Scio Turn hustles eastward

Ohio Central's Scio Turn brings tankers eastward out of Newark bound for a facility in Scio Ohio. In the era of GEVO's nice to see a 4 pack of SD40-2's.

A variety of locomotives reside on the service tracks at the Ohio Central's yard in Newark, Ohio and await their next assignment while the morning yard job can been seen switching in the distance.

Other than the orange sanding tower, this angle at Newark kinda looks like the Ohio Central in the good 'ol days... The reality of it is all 3 OC painted SD40-2s (4022, 4024 & 4029) still working ... (more)

The Ohio Central's NKWA rounds the curve at Lenoard Avenue heading towards CP 138. The train would wait there for permission onto Norfolk Southern to interchange at their Watkins Yard.

OHCR 4029 and NTP-03 pound the diamond at LM Cabin on their way through downtown Columbus.

Helper power ready to leave the yard in Newark will run light to Columbus and be added to a NS coal train that will make its way across the Ohio Central panhandle line. 4029 is former CP 5855.
